On May 4, 2024, a run took place in Kaunas' Ąžuolynas Park, dedicated to the memory of Alfonso Vietrinas, the pioneer of marathon running in Lithuania, a multiple long-distance running champion, and record holder. The event, aimed at popularizing running in Lithuania, was organized by the Lithuanian Sports University, the Kaunas Running Enthusiasts Club, and the Lithuanian Athletics Federation. The A. Vietrinas Cup run also included enthusiasts of tricycle sports, and participants covered a distance of 2.5 km.
